Parker is best known for his role as Lou Marie, the father of Marlo Thomas's character in the popular 1960s sitcom "That Girl." He appeared in over 200 episodes of the show from 1966 to 1971.
Prior to his role in "That Girl," Parker had a successful career on Broadway, appearing in various productions throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He also had numerous guest appearances on television shows such as "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Twilight Zone," and "The Andy Griffith Show."
